SCU Law Exam Taking Software Computer Requirements - Mac OS

Apple and Examsoft will end support of Ventura on October 15, 2025.

InfoApple Mac computers: Examsoft Examplify minimum requirements (2024/2025)

Mac Hardware 2016 or older is considered as "vintage" by Apple

Sonoma, Sequoia or later.
*minimum OS requirement for Mac but can change in Fall 2025 by Examsoft

50 Gigabytes of free space ( 100 GB or more highly recommended)
8 Gigabytes of RAM memory (16 GB highly recommended)
CPU equivalent to Intel i5 2.0+ Ghz or higher; recommended i7, Apple Silicon Chip M2 or later

*Examplify version 3.8 or later is the base version for SCU Law Exams for Fall 2025/ Spring 2026

Vendor full specs:
  1. CPU: Intel processor or Apple Silicon Mx-based chipsets
  2. RAM: 8GB or higher (16 GB or more highly recommended)
  3. Hard Drive: 2GB minimum or higher available space (50 GB or more is highly recommended)
  4. For onsite support, and in order to backup the answer files to USB, a working USB port is required (Newer devices may require an adaptor)
  5. For technical troubleshooting, account passwords, including device passwords, may be required.
  6. Server version of Mac OS X is not supported
  7. This software cannot be used on virtual operating systems such as Microsoft's Virtual Machine, Parallels, VMware, VMware Fusion or any other virtual environments.
  8. Internet connection for Download, Registration, Exam Download and Upload.
  9. Administrator level account permissions (Instructions)
  10. Examplify cannot be run within virtualized environments or environments that require persistent network (local or otherwise) connections during secure exams. This includes, but is not limited to, VMWare, Parallels, Citrix workspace, Virtual Disks, Streamed images, etc.

For some vintage Mac computers still running on Intel CPU and not Apple Silicon (ARM-based M series), those computers will have an issue running the Apple Silicon installer for Examplify. You will need to verify that you do have a Intel CPU and then download the appropiate Examplify Installed for legacy Intel CPUs here.
