Smart Print printer definitions and what printer releases what types of print jobs

If you have chosen to install the Smart Print client, then it will install two types of print drivers and printer definitions,

SmartPrint_BW_Printer
SmartPrint_Color_Printer

If you select an application like Microsoft Word or any application that uses the printer definitions Smart_BW_Printer, then will it print to a monochrome HP printer in Charney hall? Will it print to a color HP printer in Charney hall?


Yes, monochrome print jobs will print to all Smart Print printers labeled "DELL" and also new HP Smart Print monochrome printers located in Charney Hall, SCU residence halls, Benson Center and the main campus library & learning commons.

WARNING: If you are printing a print job with any color elements, selected SmartPrint_Color_Printer, and then tried to release the print job on a DELL or HP monochrome  Smart Print printer, then you will receive a print error.

If you don't like the hassle of installing extra applications, then perhaps consider just using MyPrint Center. Please be aware that your print job will start to print immediately after you have selected your print job; selected the type of printer, and clicked on the  "Print"  button. For more information on MyPrint Center, then visit SCU Academic Technology's FAQ on MyPrint Center.

Notes
NOTE: You will log into My Print Center using your SCU Network ID (Gmail address minus "@scu.edu") and password. Upload your document and then send your job to the closest printer in your immediate area.
