Effective 12/17/2025, we will update our Minimum System Requirements (MSRs) to retire support for an older version of Examplify as well, moving our supported versions to: 3.10.0, 3.9.0, and 3.8.0 for the Desktop and 5.4.1 for the iPad.
Examplify for Desktop version 3.10 includes several important updates, including support for Windows ARM devices, user experience improvements, routine bug fixes and security updates.
ARM-based devices are now supported on Examplify for Windows 3.10 and above. Users must have Windows 24H2 or greater to use an ARM-based processor. ARM-based devices are not supported for Windows versions prior to 24H2, including Windows 10. In-app messaging and published Minimum System Requirements have been updated to reflect this change. We recognize that ARM-based devices are growing more common, and are excited to deliver this milestone to better support our users.
In addition to the new feature, version 3.10 includes several user experience enhancements designed to improve clarity and reduce support inquiries:
Essay Character Count Alerts: Students will now receive notifications at 80%, 90%, and 100% of the character limit when typing essay responses, helping them stay within guidelines without guesswork or monitoring the character count badge at the bottom of the essay editor.
Improved Upload Guidance: The “Unable to Upload Exam” message has been redesigned to provide clearer next steps and reassurance that exam files remain secure.
Enhanced Dashboard Navigation: The “Refresh Exam List” link has been added to the top of the Dashboard for easier access ahead of upcoming interface improvements. The lower button for “Refresh Exam List” remains for the time.
Clearer Password Guidance: A new reminder above the password entry field clarifies that the exam password is provided by the institution, helping reduce confusion during login.
This update also includes bug fixes, as well as security updates to enhance our ability to safeguard exam integrity. One of these security updates will encrypt the Examplify logs on the students device, making them unreadable to the student. You may still review these logs in the portal using this support article.

We recently sent notification to you regarding the anticipated roll-out of Examplify for your institution. During our testing from early adopters, we identified two issues that required minor changes. These issues caused some Windows machines to be incorrectly flagged as Virtual Machines (VM), and prevented some lab installations from accessing the institution list.
If you were slated on one of the following days, the new date is shown below.
If you chose a different date and worked with your Customer Success Manager (CSM), please connect with your CSM to ensure you still want to roll-out on this date.
Actions Required:
If you prefer to update earlier than your new scheduled date, please reach out to your CSM and provide them with your preferred date. You and your students may download the software ahead of time on our website Tuesday, April 8.
If you have any technical questions regarding the upcoming Examplify version, please contact our 24/7 Support team.
Sincerely,
The ExamSoft Team
